Finally it's time to get out of the shitty Dutch weather (cold, windy, rainy) and fly to 35+ degrees Celsius and perfect sunshine! Luang Prabang is a beautiful town in the North of Laos with many influences of the French rule some decennia's ago. The old quarter is sqeezed in between the Mekong river and the Nahm Khan river, with temples rising up everywhere. From the hills there is a fantastic scenery over the rivers and forests.
Only one hour away you find yourself in the middle of the jungle with the possibility of riding elephants and swiming under waterfalls. Thank God for me, the mosquitos are not so bad as in Peru: i've only been bitten 8 times in three days ;) and only one of the bites has really grown to a huge bump...
A well, life is good in Laos!
